Rachel is looking to move Sinful Desire to another host, possibly AO3. To do this we need to find out if there is sufficient interest in keeping the site up. We will need 1-2 members to help coordinate the migration and volunteers to move the stories using a semi-automated process.  Please contact me, Morgan Dawn via LJ or morgandawn @ gmail.com

Hi everyone!

I wanted to post here to let everyone know that

A) The site has been updated to the latest e-fiction script and hopefully has cleared up any little errors and bugs that were on the site.

B) If you are uploading a story and notice a random co-author in "preview" go ahead and submit your story. That author name will disappear once the story is submitted. Sorry, not too sure why that's coming up for some people, but it's only during the preview.

C) There is a difference between "Tracking" a story and adding a story to your "favorites." Tracking will ONLY show when you last read a story. That is now in bold at the end of the story info, that way you can see when you last read something and if it's been updated since then.

If you want to get an e-mail on when a story is updated, you must choose "Add story to Favorites," make sure to hit "submit" so it will be added to your list, and then in Account Info -> Edit Preferences, you need to have the box marked for "Contact when favorites are updated." That's the only way you can get e-mails when stories are updated. Also! For authors, if you want to get reviews in e-mails, you have to check the box for "Contact for new reviews."

So! If you are a reader or author and aren't getting any e-mails from the site, go to Edit Preferences and that will probably solve any and all problems.

D) The site may or may not go offline sometime in the next 2-4 days. I am transferring the domain to my current host, and even though I have things set up with them already, it may go offline during the transfer. It shouldn't be too long though!

Hope this clears some things up (I think I had mixed up tracking and favorites in my mind since first adding those options) and if you all have any problems don't hesitate to let me know!

I was wondering if I could get some feedback from the members of the Sinful Desire archive who are tracking authors and/or stories or authors who get reviews.

A while back a few members told me that they weren't getting any e-mails from the site that let them know when stories were updated or for authors, when reviews were posted for a story. I've just recently upgraded to the latest e-fiction script, which I am hoping will solve these problems...it's just hard for me to test it out since I'm not tracking anything.

If you guys could let me know if you are or still are not getting these automated e-mails from the archive, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

The site is back up - I think it finally came back up sometime this afternoon. Apparently they never got my payment, and blamed it on a PayPal glitch. Anyway, the site is back up and everything should be working fine with the archive. I you're having any issues, please let me know!

Just FYI and a heads up though, I'm probably going to be transferring the domain name over to the place I'm currently with since the other guys pissed me off so much haha, which might result in some more site downtime. I'll let you all know if that's the case.

Thanks for being patient and sorry for the down time!

Hey guys,

Well I'm having some issues with my domain provider company right now. They are saying I haven't paid to renew the domain name, even though I did back on the 2nd (and I have the paypal receipt to prove it). So, the site content itself is still safe and I've sent off a support ticket to try and get some assistance. Hopefully the site will be back online soon, and I'll post again when it is.

ETA 8:00 EST: It looks like they may have canceled my invoice rather than accept payment? So I'm still not too sure what's going on, but it looks like they never got my payment. We're still discussing what's going on and I'm waiting to hear back from them again.

Sinful Desire is back online! HOORAY!

Sorry it took so long...I had horrible communication problems with my domain host for the past 5 days.

And thanks for the support while the site was offline - I will definitely set up a donations page to renew the site domain and hosting plan so this won't happen again.

Everyone should thank shamangrrl, because she is AWESOME and donated to the site to get the domain back up! Hooray!

I paid the bill yesterday morning, so now we're all just waiting for them to re-activate the site and get it back online, which will hopefully be before the weekend us up.

Thank you again SO SO MUCH, shamangrrl for the donation, and thank you everyone else for the support - I'm definitely considering adding a donation page so this won't happen again. All I can say is just keep checking for when the site goes up again

*crosses fingers that it will be soon*

My domain expires tomorrow and I can't afford to renew it until the middle of next week, so the domain will most likely go off-line at midnight tonight and be offline for the better part of a week's time. Sorry for the inconvenience, but there's nothing else I can really do at the moment to keep the site online.

As of right now, the site is back online. Apparently my IP was voided b/c of some phishing pages hosted on my server, so I'm going to delete those right now and hope that the site continues to run smoothly!

Sorry for the 24+ hours of downtime, but at least the site is back up before the show tonight! :)

I'm not too sure what happened, but sometime between late last night and this morning, the site has gone offline. I've sent in help tickets to both of my domain providers, but that's about all I can do right now until I hear back from them and get home from work. Hopefully I'll get the problem resolved tonight.

I'll keep you all updated when I hear something back from either one of them.

ETA: Site should be back up and correctly working. Please let me know if you have any issues.
